November 2024 - Philadelphia Supporters Cruise

Conservancy supporters, former SS United States passengers and crew members, local artists, and fans of the Big U gathered in November for a poignant cruise along the Delaware River to commemorate America's Flagship and her time in Philadelphia. United by a passion for the historic ocean liner, over 100 supporters joined Conservancy Board members, chapter chairs, volunteers, and staff to share memories and their deep connections to the Big U.

Conservancy videographer Bill Magee was on hand to capture the event and the moving reflections offered by attendees. CLICK HERE to watch a video recap of the cruise. CLICK HERE to see photos of the gathering courtesy of longtime Conservancy photographer Kyle Ober, as well as images shared by others in attendance.

Local media also joined the cruise, sharing inspirational sentiments from those paying tribute to the SS United States and her connection to the City of Brotherly Love. Billy Penn at WHYYCBS 3, and The Philadelphia Inquirer all captured stunning visuals and evocative recollections while supporters enjoyed the remarkable views of America's Flagship. The Conservancy is deeply grateful to City Cruises Philadelphia for supporting this special gathering.
