This 1954 advertisement pictures a family coming home to a chic abode. The mother and daughter are dressed in the latest fashions of Paris, while the man of the family comically balances a tower of delicately wrapped packages in one arm and suitcases in another, not unlike a bellboy would on their vacation. The ad reads, “When you’re back from Paris, London, Rome- what makes you feel so welcome home? Your Lees Carpets of course!” This ad insinuates that the comfort of home could be found right on board the SS United States.
