This ad’s cutaway views of the SS United States show off the ship’s modern amenities, from “individual climate control” in each stateroom to “world-wide telephone service.” It offered a glimpse of a world where technology had made people’s lives more luxurious and more efficient--the rewards of hard work and the realization of the “American Dream.”
